Plans for Djupavik
I would like to come to this unfamiliar place with an open mind and work further with my interest field in relation to what I experience and find in Djúpavík.

My way of working:
I often start with something that catches my interest without knowing where it’s going to lead or end. I’m very process oriented because I like to work that way, not knowing what the outcome will be and sometimes realizing/learning something new about myself, and my surroundings. I use art to map stuff/surroundings, and to learn about myself (identity), people, feelings, memories, atmospheres etc. I like to hold every possibility open as long as I can in the process of a work.

Themes:
In my work I’m concerned with different questions, but when everything is summed up it’s often about the same things: Feminine contra masculine (as pure qualities or binaries gendered female contra male, passive contra aggressive, emotional contra rational, domestic contra public etc.), multiple identities/multiple selves etc.

Material:
I have been working with a wide range of material, but at this moment I would like to focus more on sonic art, giving it the main part in my work. Until now sound and music has been a big part and inspiration in my work, but it has never played the leading role. Drawing is also something I value a lot in my artistic practice (both as a tool and as art work), so that is something I want to take further as well.
